Safeguarding Policy Statement
Focused Healthcare is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
We adhere to the requirements of the “Children Act 1989”, the “Children and Families Act 2014” and the legal framework contained in “Working Together to Safeguarding Children (2015)”.
References to ‘children’ in this guide cover the unborn baby up to their 18th birthday and young persons up to their 25th birthday supported by their family in the home and Children Services.
Focused Healthcare has an important role in safeguarding children and young people who may be at risk of abuse and neglect. The overarching objective for Focused Healthcare is to enable children, young people and vulnerable adults to live a life free from abuse or neglect. This cannot be achieved by a single agency. Focused Healthcare is committed to partnership working and acknowledges that every organization and person who comes into contact with a child and young person has a responsibility and role to play to keep children and young people safe across the life span.
Focused Healthcare is aware of the Common Assessment Framework, the Early Intervention Assessment Tool for use across all children’s services in England. We work with CWDT to ensure all information is shared with the multi agencies involved in supporting the needs of the child or young person.
