The aim of our service is to enable children and young people with additional healthcare needs access to a wider range of respite and short break services through the training of care staff.
Who is it for?
We provide training for service commissioners, local authorities and specialist school centres in a variety of settings such as residential breaks units, home settings and charitable group settings.
It is our wish to enable children with disabilities and additional health care needs to access appropriate short breaks care, through the provision of training for care staff on invasive procedures such as tracheostomy suctioning.
We can undertake an independent HNA under the National Framework for Child and Young Persons Continuing Care (DOH 22010 and 2016) if required.
Our Clinical Nurse Managers are trained fully in management of risk and putting in place controls and checks within all our assessments. Facing many dilemmas and challenges in working with varied and complex cases we apply a code of ethics to ensure the interest of the child takes preference at all times.
